Location: Gloucester (Hybrid Working)

Salary: 75,000 – 90,000 + Benefits

A well–established and growing construction business is seeking an experienced Head of Finance to join its leadership team in Gloucester.

This is a pivotal appointment, offering the opportunity to take full ownership of the finance function for a significant regional business unit. Working closely with the Managing Director and senior leadership team, you will play a key role in driving financial performance, supporting strategic decision–making and ensuring the business is well–positioned for continued growth.

The Role

Lead and develop the finance function, ensuring robust financial control and governanceOversee month–end close, management accounts and board reportingDrive budgeting, forecasting and long–term business planning processesOwn cashflow forecasting and working capital managementPartner with operational, commercial and delivery teams to provide financial insight and challengeSupport land, development and investment appraisalsManage joint venture reporting and maintain strong stakeholder relationshipsLead audit processes and ensure compliance with all financial and regulatory requirementsIdentify and implement process improvements across finance systems, controls and reportingDevelop and mentor a high–performing finance team

About You

Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent)Previous experience operating as a Head of Finance, Financial Controller or Senior Finance Manager within construction, housebuilding, engineering or a project–based environmentStrong technical accounting and financial control expertiseProven experience leading budgeting, forecasting and cashflow planning processesExperience working with joint ventures and complex reporting structures would be advantageousCommercially minded with the ability to influence and challenge senior stakeholdersStrong leadership skills with a track record of developing finance teamsComfortable operating in a fast–paced and evolving business environment
