An exciting opportunity has arisen for a qualified Financial Controller to join a successful and growing manufacturing business based in Lincolnshire.

Reporting directly to the Finance Director and working closely with the Managing Director and senior leadership team, this is a highly visible role offering genuine influence across the organisation.

The Opportunity

This is far more than a traditional reporting role.

You'll take ownership of the finance function, lead and develop an established finance team and provide the financial insight needed to support a dynamic and evolving business. The role offers excellent breadth, combining strong financial stewardship with commercial involvement across the wider organisation.

Leading a finance team that includes qualified, part-qualified and transactional finance professionals, you'll play a key role in ensuring the finance function continues to support the business as it grows.

Key Responsibilities

Lead, mentor and develop a finance team comprising qualified, part-qualified and transactional finance professionalsOwnership of monthly management accounts and financial reportingLead budgeting, forecasting and financial planning processesDeliver detailed variance analysis and performance reportingSupport strategic decision-making through commercial analysis and insightOversee cash flow management and working capital performanceMaintain robust financial controls and governance proceduresEnsure balance sheet integrity and reconciliation processes are maintainedCoordinate year-end accounts preparation and audit requirementsLiaise with external accountants, auditors, tax advisers and other professional advisersDrive process improvement and finance efficiency initiativesSupport operational management with meaningful financial information and analysisContribute to business improvement and growth projects as required

About You

We're seeking a qualified accountant who combines strong technical expertise with a pragmatic, hands-on and commercially focused approach.

You'll be comfortable operating within a busy environment, capable of balancing strategic priorities with day-to-day financial leadership.

Essential

ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualifiedPrevious experience operating within a Financial Controller, Finance Manager or comparable senior finance positionAlternatively, an ambitious and technically strong finance professional ready to step into their first Financial Controller roleStrong financial and management reporting experienceProven experience of budgeting, forecasting and cash flow managementAbility to lead, develop and motivate finance teamsStrong stakeholder management and communication skillsA proactive, hands-on and commercially focused approach

Desirable

Manufacturing sector experienceExperience within stock-intensive environmentsExposure to multi-site, multi-entity or group structuresBackground within a growing or evolving business environment
