Job Title: Finance Officer (6-Month temp)

Location: Winsford, Cheshire

Salary: £21.26 per hour umbrella rate

Start Date: ASAP

Overview:

We are working with a well-established organisation in Winsford, currently looking to appoint an experienced Finance Officer on a 6-month temporary contract. This role is ideal for a finance professional with strong ledger and reconciliation experience, who is confident supporting core financial operations and overseeing transactional processes within a team.

Key Responsibilities:

• Maintain the organisation’s financial ledger system, including interface management, coding structures, data accuracy, and workflow

• Complete all financial reconciliations in line with scheduled deadlines

• Support the preparation of management reports, statutory accounts, and budget-related information

• Supervise and provide leadership to Finance Assistants, including performance management and day-to-day support

• Oversee creditors, debtors, and banking processes liaise with banking providers as required

• Support compliance with the Construction Industry Scheme (CIS), including the completion of relevant returns

• Contribute to improvements in financial systems, controls, and procedures

• Provide guidance and training to colleagues to help embed financial best practices

• Liaise with auditors and provide supporting financial information as needed

Requirements:

• AAT qualified (or equivalent experience)

• Proven experience working in a finance function

• Strong understanding of financial systems, including reconciliations, purchase/sales ledgers, and banking processes

• Skilled in the use of Microsoft Excel and other standard Office applications

Additional Information:

This is a full-time role based on-site in Winsford. It is offered on a 6-month temporary basis, with the possibility of extension depending on business needs. The position is ideally suited to candidates who are available at short notice.
