Description

Credit Controller - Shrewsbury

Full‑time | Permanent | On‑site | Monday-Friday, 8:30am-5pm

A growing business is seeking a proactive and organised Credit Controller to support the day‑to‑day running of the finance function. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys variety, takes ownership, and can build strong relationships with customers and suppliers. Due to the rural location, a driving licence is required.

Key Responsibilities

Managing the full credit control process

Chasing outstanding debts using all available communication methods

Handling debtor insurance administration

Processing supplier invoices using internal finance systems

Raising sales ledger invoices

Setting up new supplier and customer accounts

Completing supplier payment reconciliations and preparing payment batches

Processing purchase invoices into Xero

Resolving queries with customers and suppliers promptly

Supporting quality control and general finance housekeeping tasks

Skills & Experience

Bookkeeping experience desirable

Strong verbal and written communication skills

Confident IT user (MS Word, Excel, Office 365)

Knowledge of Xero advantageous

Knowledge of CIS beneficial

High attention to detail and strong numeracy

Able to work both independently and as part of a team

Comfortable working under pressure and meeting deadlines

Additional Requirements

Full UK driving licence (due to rural location)
