Description
Commercial Account Handler
Location: Birmingham
Salary: £35,000 - £40,000
I am currently working with a well-established commercial insurance brokerage looking to add a talented Account Handler to their Birmingham office. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with solid commercial insurance experience who wants to step up into a role with more responsibility and the chance to support a growing book of business.
About the Role:
You’ll be supporting an ambitious Account Executive who has a modest but expanding portfolio of clients, handling premiums up to around £50,000. The focus is on renewals and day-to-day client management, with plenty of exposure to new business opportunities as well. While primarily desk-based, there will be occasions to attend client meetings alongside the AE, giving you some client-facing experience.
Who We’re Looking For:
Someone with strong experience across multiple commercial insurance classes, either SME or broader commercial.
A stable career history – they’re looking for someone committed rather than a frequent job-hopper.
Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
Ideally Cert CII qualified, though the company will support training if needed.
Comfortable working in a young, collaborative office-based team.Culture & Environment:
The team is friendly, professional, and focused on collaboration. You’ll be sitting next to a driven AE, who is eager to grow their client portfolio, so this is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys helping colleagues develop their book.
Package & Benefits:
Competitive salary up to £40,000 DOE.
26 days annual leave + bank holidays (option to buy up to 5 more).
Pension scheme.
On-site parking.
Full support for professional qualifications
