An established and growing professional services firm in London is seeking an experienced Client Accounts Manager to join its Accounts & Business Advisory team.

This is a senior-level opportunity for a technically strong and commercially aware accountant who enjoys managing client relationships, reviewing work, and supporting junior team members while delivering high-quality accounts and advisory services.

The Role

As Client Accounts Manager, you will take ownership of a varied portfolio of clients, managing the preparation and finalisation of statutory accounts while ensuring compliance with relevant accounting standards and deadlines.

You will review the work of junior team members, provide guidance and coaching, and act as a key point of contact for clients. The role combines strong technical delivery with commercial awareness and client relationship management.

You will:

Manage the preparation and review of statutory accountsFinalise accounts and review prepared tax computationsSet and monitor budgets, managing job progress and reporting variancesCommunicate overruns or additional services clearly and proactivelyHandle complex accounting matters and escalate technical issues where requiredMaintain high levels of client satisfaction and service deliveryCoach and develop junior team membersMonitor budgets against job progress and take corrective action where requiredManage workflow to meet client needs and business deadlinesIdentify opportunities to add value and strengthen client relationshipsConfidently manage challenging client feedbackDeliver work thoroughly and to a consistently high standardTechnical LeadershipPrepare and review medium-risk statutory accounts, including detailed notesDraft clear transmittal letters explaining key financial points to clientsApply disclosure requirements under FRS105, FRS102 (1a), FRS102 and IFRSCalculate and explain deferred tax to clientsIdentify benefit-in-kind and PSA considerationsCalculate associated companies and understand group implicationsProcess share buybacks and restructuresAccount for fair value revaluations (investments, investment property, etc.)Calculate WIP valuations and holiday pay accrualsInterpret tax codes and identify when amendments are requiredIdentify potential capital gains tax exposureUnderstand VAT treatments and confidently explain technical positionsApply digital tools such as Xero and Dext within client engagementsTake responsibility for team workflow planningSupport, guide and provide timely feedback to junior team membersProactively seek opportunities to develop beyond operational deliveryManage multiple assignments simultaneously and meet deadlinesAbout You
