Description

NXTGEN is pleased to be recruiting an Accounts Assistant for a growing and ambitious business with an international presence.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with experience across transactional finance who is ready to take on a broader and more varied position. You’ll have responsibility across both purchase and sales ledger while also supporting month-end processes, reporting and stakeholders across the business.

The international exposure adds something genuinely different to the role, giving you the opportunity to support an overseas operation and build experience beyond the typical responsibilities of an Accounts Assistant. You’ll join a collaborative finance team where you can take ownership of your work and continue developing your technical skills.

As Accounts Assistant, your responsibilities will include:

* Processing purchase invoices accurately and efficiently

* Raising sales invoices and issuing them to customers

* Completing credit checks for new accounts

* Managing credit control activity and following up overdue balances

* Completing monthly bank and credit card reconciliations

* Processing employee expense claims

* Posting accruals and prepayments

* Supporting operational stakeholders with finance-related queries

* Producing monthly reports and tracking key performance indicators

* Ensuring financial controls and processes are followed

* Providing wider support to the finance team when required

The successful candidate will ideally have:

* Previous experience within a varied transactional finance position

* Exposure to purchase ledger, sales ledger and credit control

* Experience xjnqpsq completing bank or credit card reconciliations

* An AAT Level 3 qualification or equivalent practical experience

* Confidence using accounting systems and Microsoft Excel

* Strong attention to detail and an accurate approach

* The ability to communicate effectively with finance and non-finance colleagues

* A proactive, positive and collaborative attitude

Previous NetSuite experience would be beneficial but is not essential.
