Chery showcases technology at 2026 user summit

Chery hosted its International User Summit 2026 in Wuhu, Anhui Province, China, from 19 to 23 October 2026. Journalists and Chery customers from Indonesia were invited to test-drive vehicles and attend technology demonstrations.

At a test area in Wuhu, Chery presented the Tiggo V, a three-row SUV set to launch soon in Indonesia. According to Chery, the car is 4,910 mm long, 1,921 mm wide, 1,780 mm high and has a 2,800 mm wheelbase. It is offered with a turbocharged 1.5-litre or 1.6-litre petrol engine and a plug-in hybrid variant; Chery says engine capacity, power, torque and transmission details will follow official specifications for each market. The roof section between the C-pillar and D-pillar can be removed, making the vehicle resemble a double cabin. Chery Indonesia President Director Zeng Shuo said the company plans to bring the Tiggo V to Indonesia in both SUV and double-cabin body shapes.

At Hongyang Mountain, participants drove the Chery J6T REEV on a dirt track. The REEV version is powered by an electric motor, with a 1.5-litre turbocharged petrol engine used as a generator when the battery is low. The vehicle tested used Chery’s Intelligent Wheel Drive system. A spec sheet supplied by Chery lists output of up to 428 PS and 505 Nm of torque. Zeng Shuo said this REEV variant has more power and torque than the J6 and J6T CSH variants already sold in Indonesia.

The summit also included a crash test of a Chery Tiggo 7 against a truck at the Longshan Test Centre. After the impact, the engine compartment was heavily crushed, but all doors opened normally and all airbags deployed. Chery did not disclose the speed at impact. The crash test was a manufacturer-organised demonstration, not an independent safety rating.

At the Squirrel Tower parking area, Chery demonstrated Super Intelligent Valet Parking on the Tiggo 7 and Tiggo 8. The system can be activated by smartphone, after which the car navigates itself to a parking space and can be called back to the user. Chery says it uses 11 high-resolution cameras, 12 ultrasonic sensors and a centimetre-precision laser-based LIDAR sensor. In the demonstration, the car drove itself without a driver on board.
