Description
KNIGHTSWOOD LARGE BLACK MULBERRY HANDBAG VERY RARE NO LONGER AVAILABLE.
Genuine Mulberry Knightsbridge Bag - with unique serial number which is 207619.
This is a fabulous shoulder bag, with tooled decorative leather, a useful front pocket and secure zip closure
Made from Black Darwin leather - a thick robust leather, some would say from Mulberry's finest era and certainly more substantial than today's Mulberry leather
Large Size -Dimensions:
Width 34 cm including side buckles
Height 17.5 cm x depth 16 cm including front pocket
Twin handles - fixed drop of 19 cm
Closure - full width, sturdy brass zip
Interior - one main compartment, clean unlined suede, Mulberry metal fob with unique serial number and one small internal pocket for compact mirror etc.
Labelled - Made in England (small internal label)
Bag depth - is adjustable via side buckled straps
Exterior - front pocket with iconic postman lock closure in brass
Bag shape - Bowling
Craftmanship - beautifully decorated with tooled spade leather and Mulberry tree logo metal rivets
Weight - 770 g
Cost £850 years ago and would be around £1,500 today
Retired - Both bag design and Darwin leather are now discontinued so no longer available to buy from Mulberry, this bag is a real rarity!
My wife tells me she used this bag sparingly in the mid-1990s, it has sat unused since around 1995.
It has been cleaned with TRG Leather Balm.
The bag is in VERY GOOD Used condition, no scratches and no signs of excess wear.
For comparison, Mulberry sells these similar bags:
- Iris £1550
- New Season Bayswater in legacy NVT leather £1350
And they do not have the wonderful tooled Darwin leather and overall beauty and craftsmanship of this now rare bag
