This has to be the lowest mileage early 90s Volvo 460 on the roads today, or indeed any 90s Volvo! The car has had just 2 private owners from new. Originally supplied by Hildenborough Volvo (part of the Minories Garages Group of the day) to a Mr Acres of Sevenoaks, Kent, in August 1993 (4.9 miles from the supplying dealership). Mr Acres kept the car for 20 years before a Mr Letchford of Maidstone (15.7 miles from the supplying dealership) acquired it and has owned it for the last 13 years. It is clear that Mr Letchford acquired the car for his private collection as it was stored and off the road for his entire ownership period. The car also was off the road for the last 5 years of Mr Acres ownership, presumably due to ill health or retiring from driving. The mileage makes more sense when you consider this lovely Volvo 460 has been stored and not used for 18 years of its 32 year life! Based on Mr Acres annual mileage between 2006, 2007 and 2008 being just 550 miles, it is safe to assume that in the 13 years previous to this (pre dating the online MOT history), that the car only covered an average of 995 miles per year. Therefore, we conclude the mileage to be absolutely genuine and in line with the mechanical and cosmetic condition of the vehicle. Since coming out of storage in 2024, the Volvo has had a fair amount of recommissioning including a new fuel tank, fuel pump, injectors, engine service, new brakes, tyres and a small amount of welding to the offside rear inner sill area. The works have been carried out professionally and to a high standard. The car runs like new with nothing untoward to report whatsoever. No rattles, knocks or noises from anywhere. The engine fires straight up and sounds superb, the gearbox is smooth when changing up and down the box. The spare wheel and toolkit are all present along with the cars book pack with operating manuals, Volvo welcome letters, cards etc. Unfortunately the service book is no longer with the vehicle, presumable left in Mr Acres estate upon sale in 2013. Supplied with a new MOT, serviced, subject to a stringent pre delivery inspection, 12 months RAC breakdown cover, 6 months RAC warranty (extendable to up to 3 years) and HPI clear certificate. The car is also still sporting the supplying dealer number plate, window sticker, TAX disc holder and fitted carpet mats.
