Description
A very rare and unique oppurtunity to own a piece of nostalgic motoring history at a realistic price. The car is in regular use and very reliable. Used for classic car 'runs' out and motoring shows including weekends away and most recently a trip to southern island along the Atlantic causeway. She presents exeptionally well given her age. The paintwork is as good as one would expect with a level of authenticity and inevitable patina. The interior is uniquely original including the original seats / material and door cards with exception of a replacement headlining some years ago and carpet which had sucum to the ravages of time. The dash and instrumentation are all functioning. The vehicle has had discreet working indicators fitted that dont look out of place along with a slim line 3rd brake light for those joyest motorist who wish to tailgate you and show you 'just how fast' their cars are compared to yours! You know the type. Shes had a recent radiator along with stainless exhaust and 4 x new matching tyres with the spare tucked neatly under the boot in its own seperate compartment. The engine starts on the key and she drives as one would expect a 77 year old vehicle to drive. She happily cruises at 50mph (quite heady when you consider at the time of manufacturing most road users were still on bicycles and horse and carts) although she is a little lethargic on steep inclines. Shes not without the odd oil leak and some remedial work requiring as one would expect for the price tag however she is very solid underneath and remarkably pleasing to the eye on the body. All four doors close with a reassuring thud and snug and tight on the latches without the need to repeatedly slam them. Shes a ready to drive and present car at any show without embarassment and should be considered as a very useable classic for an enthusiastic new owner and their family. She comes as shown complete with period picnic basket inc china and patriotic cushions along with the original workshop manual, handbook and drivers handbook. The car is always garaged but she is no garage queen or weather dodger and should be considered as such so as to set your expectations prior to enquiring however shes a lot lot better than some ive seen at shows that the ownwers have paid a lot more for. This a perfect entry level car to get into the post war classic car scene and is always afforded recognition by many including those who own 'showboats'. Priced realistically to sell without having to endure time wasters or purists. Shes even better in the flesh than the images or the price portray. Only offered for sale due to an ever increasing collection of vehicles and little time to use them. V5 is present along with a portfolio of paperwork. I am acting as an intimediatory for a family member to filter out the genuine enquirys from the not so genuine. I will pass interested parties phone number on for the owner to call and discuss further. Please remember if its a 1st in class show winner you wish to buy then your budget needs to be incresed substantially and look elsewhere however if you are looking for a genuine honest classic that receives a complementary audience from a genuine owner NOT a trader, then this may well be the car for you.
