Waste Collection Driver

Description

Belmont Recruitment are looking for a Waste Collection Driver to join Barnsley Council on an initial 3 month temporary contract. This is a full-time role working 37 hours per week, Monday to Friday.

Key Responsibilities:

*

Drive and operate waste collection vehicles up to 7.5 tonnes (C1)

*

Safely lead and support a waste collection crew

*

Complete daily collection routes efficiently and accurately

*

Ensure vehicles and equipment are maintained, clean and secure

*

Provide courteous and helpful service to residents

*

Record operational activity using paper or handheld electronic devices

*

Comply with all health & safety and council procedures

What You’ll Need:

*

A full UK driving licence with Category C1 entitlement

*

Valid CPC (Certificate of Professional Competence)

*

Experience working in a team or supervisory role

*

Knowledge of health and safety regulations

*

Good communication skills and a professional, customer-focused attitude

*

Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions

*

Willingness to undertake manual handling and safety-related training
