JOB: TRANSPORT PLANNER

LOCATION: WOLVERHAMPTON

SALARY: Circa GBP37k

My client is seeking to appoint a permanent, experienced TRANSPORT PLANNER.

This is a full–time DAY position – Monday to Friday – 8am until 5pm

You will plan the HGV fleet in the most cost–effective way whilst adhering to driving laws and worktime directive legislation providing an on–time delivery solution for customers.

It is essential that you have:

High computer literacy, preferably a sound knowledge of the Windows Operating Systems; Microsoft Office Applications; Planning and Tracking software. You must be able to demonstrate good numeracy skills and attention to detail You will have great communication skills, as you will be dealing with customers; transport department; drivers; and warehouse staff A professional, positive attitude is essential Training will be provided on internal systems Previous experience of planning large HGV fleets (in excess of 30) required Excellent geographical knowledge of the whole of the UK is required

This is a busy, exciting and varied role, which requires excellent attention to detail.

You will dynamically plan all the HGV vehicles; monitor the LIVE plan to ensure resource is on time; liaise with Transport Controllers to confirm driver and asset availability (including sub–contractors); actively seek ways to reduce empty legs to ensure vehicle utilisation is maximised.
