All about the Role

Please note, this is a part time role and the salary advertised is for a FTE. Therefore the salary will be pro rata.

You will work alongside colleagues within finance, procurement, payroll, HR and other PCC departments to ensure systems and processes are implemented and to assist with problem-solving should irregularities arise.

Provide efficient, effective and timely administrative and secretarial support to the manager and staff team in accordance with Peterborough City Council's (PCC) policy and practice.

Work to administrative processes delegated by the manager which align to the Children's Homes (England) Regulations 2015 ensuring those records which need to be accessed during Ofsted inspections and Regulation 44 visits are available and current. This will include maintaining, updating and archiving electronic and paper files in line with statutory retention requirements.

Take responsibility for financial processes as delegated by the manager. To include managing Imprest accounts, petty cash monitoring, budgetary coding, monitoring and auditing PCC purchase card expenditure, raising requisitions, receipting invoices, cash withdrawals, banking and accounting and following late payment processes with external organisations.

Source and order equipment and materials for the home as identified and agreed by the manager. This will include researching products that provide value and quality and where needed adhere to required safety standards.

A knowledge and understanding of effective office systems

Ability to accurately record and update information electronically and in writing

Good organisational and office management skills

Ability to prioritise workload and meet deadlines

Good numerical skills in order to maintain and monitor good budgetary records and reports

Experience of using computer applications such as Word, Outlook and Excel.

Good general education to GCSE or equivalent level
