People Assistant - Permanent, Full-time position (37.5 hours)

Beeston, Nottingham: £26,081 - £27,454Farringdon, London: £29,317 - £30,860

This role is suitable for hybrid working, with the People Team working from the office 3 days and from home 2 days per week.

About the team

At MTVH we have an exciting opportunity for a People Assistant. This role is ideal for a graduate that has either studied HR, or has started their career in HR and looking to take the next step in their career.

This position reports to the Head of People and supports two People Advisors that provide a comprehensive People Service to the Property Directorate. This is a busy team supporting nearly 600 colleagues, so no two days are the same. The People Assistant is integral to the service being proactive and of real value to the wider business. In most instances you will be the first point of contact for our colleagues and support managers with being able to provide successful day to day people management.

What you'll need to succeedThis is a full and varied people assistant role which will include undertaking, but not limited to, the following duties: -

To contribute to the development of a proactive, customer focused and efficient HR service through developing relationships and collaborating with key internal stakeholders.

Proactively assisting, coaching and guiding people managers around all aspects of the employee life cycle, including probations, absences, flexible working, leave and general compliance of people with respect to their employment,

Support the Head of People with major projects such as restructures to ensure that administration with respect to colleagues and the establishment are managed efficiently and in line with processes to protect the governance of data.

Deliver HR advice and guidance to colleagues and people managers which will support them in navigating People policies and practices.

Supporting the People Advisor with Employee Relations cases including preparing paperwork and note taking to ensure robust processes are followed.

Deal promptly and professionally with colleague, manager, internal and external queries, delivering guidance and solutions that provide customer value and make their experience with the People Team easier.

Apply and conduct the practical application of People policies, procedures and have a robust establishment control to effect good governance, manage risk to the business, and sustain and boost colleague engagement.

Ensure at all times high levels of integrity by maintaining confidentiality of MTVH and colleagues’ confidential information and data at all times.

To support and provide to the Head of People as and when required with running of reports to review and support activities to drive improvements.

Operate as an integral member of the People team, keeping up to date with changes in employment legislation, case law updates and best practice.

To be successful in this role previous experience is desirable and on your application you should be able to demonstrate experience of: -

Enthusiastic and engaged in delivering an HR Service that adds real value to the business

A sound understanding of the principals of HR and how they support the business.

Good attention to detail and ensuring accuracy in any work produced.
