Youth Worker - Primary School - Dagenham

Location: Dagenham, East London

Start Date: 15th September 2025

Contract: 1-year fixed term, with the potential to become permanent

Pay: £100 - £124 per day (depending on experience)

We are working on behalf of a friendly and inclusive primary school in Dagenham that is seeking a Youth Worker to join their support team. This role starts 15th September and offers the opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of children who need extra guidance and encouragement.

About the Role

As a Youth Worker, you will work closely with pupils who may be at risk or facing challenges in and outside of school. Your focus will be on building trust, encouraging positive behaviour, and helping children develop the skills they need to succeed. While previous school-based experience is not required, you must have a proven track record of working with children or young people in challenging situations.

Key Responsibilities:

Support pupils with social, emotional, and behavioural needs

Implement behaviour management and de-escalation strategies (TeamTeach training is provided)

Build strong, positive relationships to encourage engagement in learning

Work collaboratively with teachers, pastoral staff, and outside agencies

Promote resilience, self-esteem, and positive decision-making

Keep accurate records of progress and incidents as required

Essential Requirements:

Proven experience working with children or young people at risk

Strong communication, resilience, and empathy

Ability to remain calm and professional under pressure

TeamTeach or similar behaviour management training (or willingness to undertake)

Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply)
