Key Responsibilities:

Plan and deliver engaging, differentiated lessons in line with the Year 2 national curriculum

Prepare pupils for end–of–KS1 SATs through targeted teaching and assessment strategies

Create a warm, inclusive classroom environment that supports all learners

Track and assess pupil progress, using data to inform planning and interventions

Work collaboratively with year group colleagues, teaching assistants, and subject leaders

Build strong relationships with parents and carers through effective communication

Contribute to the wider life of the school, including enrichment activities and staff CPD

Requirements:

Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)

Experience teaching within Key Stage 1, ideally in Year 2 (although not essential)

Strong understanding of phonics (e.g., Little Wandle, Read Write Inc., or similar)

Confidence in delivering end–of–KS1 assessments and using formative assessment effectively

Excellent classroom management and behaviour strategies

A nurturing, reflective, and professional approach to teaching
