Unqualified English Teacher - Kettering

Location: Kettering

Start Date: September 2025

Contract: Full-Time | Long-Term | Potential for Permanent Role

Daily Pay: £100-£160 (depending on experience and responsibilities)

Have you gained experience in education through tutoring, cover work, or unqualified teaching but haven't yet achieved Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)?

Schools in Kettering are seeking enthusiastic Unqualified English Teachers to join their teams starting September 2025. These full-time opportunities offer valuable classroom experience, enabling you to develop your teaching skills while earning and progressing towards a career in education.

Whether you're a recent graduate exploring teaching as a career or someone with prior classroom experience aiming to formalise your teaching qualifications, this role offers the perfect starting point.

Key Responsibilities:

Planning and delivering engaging English lessons for Key Stage 3 and 4 students

Supporting students' understanding of literature, language, and creative writing

Assisting with lesson planning, differentiation, and assessment tasks

Fostering a positive and interactive classroom atmosphere

Implementing behaviour management strategies aligned with school policies

Providing constructive feedback through marking and informal assessments

Participating in ongoing professional development, safeguarding training, and school initiatives

Who We're Looking For:

A degree in English Literature, English Language, Creative Writing, or a closely related subject

A genuine enthusiasm for education and supporting young people's development

Strong communication skills and the ability to engage a classroom confidently

Experience in tutoring, classroom assistance, or unqualified teaching is desirable but not essential

A commitment to progressing towards teacher training qualifications (PGCE, SCITT, QTS Apprenticeships)

An Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service or willingness to apply
