Teaching Assistant

Location: Grantham, Lincolnshire (NG31)

Pay: £90 -£95 per day (PAYE)

Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am - 3:30pm (Term-time only)

Contract: Long-term with the potential to go permanent

Start Date: September 2025

Long Term Futures is working with a specialist SEMH school in Grantham, part of a respected Multi-Academy Trust with a reputation for putting students' needs at the heart of everything they do. The school supports children and young people aged 5-16 with Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs, providing a safe, nurturing and structured environment that enables every learner to thrive.

In this role, you will:

Provide dedicated 1:1 and small group support to pupils with SEMH needs.

Assist teachers with engaging and creative lesson delivery.

Promote emotional wellbeing, resilience and positive behaviour.

Help students develop social skills and self-confidence.

Support behaviour management in a calm, consistent and encouraging way.

Supervise pupils during learning activities, break times and off-site trips.

We're looking for someone who:

Has experience working with children or young people with SEMH or SEN needs (highly desirable)

Has experience in a related field such as care, youth work, probation services, sports coaching or other roles involving children, young people or vulnerable individuals.

Can build strong, trusting relationships with students.

Remains calm, patient and positive, even in challenging situations.

Works well as part of a collaborative, supportive team.
