SEMH Teaching Assistant – September Start

Location: Waterlooville

Hourly Rate: £13.80 to £15 per hour

Start Date: As soon as possible/ September 2025

Job Type: Full-time, Long-Term

Are you passionate about supporting young people with social, emotional, and mental health needs?

GSL Education is currently looking for a nurturing and proactive SEMH Teaching Assistant to join a specialist setting in Waterlooville, dedicated to helping children thrive both emotionally and academically.

Your Role as an SEMH Teaching Assistant Will Include:

Providing tailored one-to-one and group support to pupils with SEMH needs

Assisting teachers in delivering a curriculum that is both therapeutic and engaging

Encouraging emotional regulation and building trusted relationships with students

Supporting the development of positive behaviour strategies

Collaborating with therapists, support staff and families to ensure holistic care

We’re Searching For Someone Who:

Is calm, empathetic, and resilient in challenging situations

Understands the complexities of emotional and behavioural needs in young people

Has a genuine commitment to inclusion and student wellbeing

Is keen to learn and willing to receive specialist training (no prior experience necessary)

Works well as part of a multidisciplinary team
