Description

Brookside Academy are seeking to appoint a Teaching Assistant to support the learning in Primary classrooms. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of our children by supporting their learning and development.

Part time, 12 hours per week (2 days per week Monday & Wednesday), 39 weeks per year (term-time plus INSET days)

Salary: Band 3, points 3-4. Actual starting salary: GBP6,643.84 per annum.

About the role

The primary role of the teaching assistant is to work with teachers to raise the learning and attainment of pupils while also promoting their independence, self-esteem and social inclusion. Key responsibilities include:

Supporting pupils both in and outside of the classroom Assisting in delivering tailored learning activities to individuals and small groups Helping to develop resources and strategies that promote independence and progress Working closely with teachers, other support staff, and parents Fostering a positive, inclusive learning environment Promoting pupil wellbeing and emotional support Encouraging pupil participation, engagement, and achievement The ideal candidate for this role will want to work constructively as part of a team, understanding classroom roles and responsibilities and your position within these. This is an exciting opportunity to become part of a supportive and dedicated team and to play a key role in the further development of this provision at our inclusive academy.
