Teaching Assistant September Start

Location: Wakefield

Start Date: September 2025

Contract Type: Full–time / Part–time

Salary: Competitive, depending on experience

Are you passionate about supporting children's learning and development? Prospero Teaching are currently seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join a supportive school community this September!

About the Role:

As a Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with class teachers to support students in their academic, social, and emotional development. You may be working with the whole class, small groups, or providing 1:1 support, depending on the needs of the school.

Key Responsibilities:

Assist the teacher in preparing and delivering lessons

Support pupils with classroom activities and learning tasks

Provide 1:1 or small group support where needed

Help manage classroom behaviour and maintain a positive learning environment

Support pupils with additional needs (SEND), if required

Contribute to planning and assessment where appropriate

Requirements:

Experience working with children in a school or educational setting (preferred)

A relevant qualification (e.g., Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant, CACHE, or equivalent)

A positive, proactive, and patient attitude

Strong communication and teamwork skills

A valid enhanced DBS check (or willingness to apply for one)

Provide two professional child related references that cover the last 2 years

Right to work in the UK

Desirable:

Experience supporting children with special educational needs (SEND)

First Aid training

Flexibility to work across different year groups
