Teaching Assistant – Autism Support (Full–Time)

Location: Huyton, Merseyside

Position: Teaching Assistant – ASD (Autism Spectrum Disorder) Support

Contract Type: Full–time, Monday to Friday

Start Date: September 2025

Salary: 85 – 125 per day (dependent on experience)

Prospero Teaching is looking for a committed and experienced Teaching Assistant to work in a welcoming and inclusive school in the Huyton area. This full–time role is specifically to support pupils with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and other additional needs.

This is an ideal position for a candidate who is passionate about supporting children with special educational needs and has a calm, nurturing approach to learning support.

Key Responsibilities:

Provide tailored 1:1 or small group support to students with AutismAssist the class teacher in delivering personalised learning plansPromote engagement, independence, and emotional well–beingHelp manage behaviour in a supportive and consistent wayWork collaboratively with SENCOs, therapists, and other support staffEssential Requirements:

Proven experience supporting children or young people with AutismStrong understanding of ASD strategies and communication techniques (e.g., PECS, visual timetables, sensory tools)Patience, empathy, and a positive attitudeA DBS registered on the Update Service (or be willing to apply for one)Relevant TA qualification or equivalent experience preferredWhat Prospero Teaching Offers:
