Teaching Assistant – Mainstream Primary School

Location: Handsworth, Birmingham (B20)

Position Type: Full–Time Term Time Only (Monday to Friday, 8:30AM – 3:30PM)

Start Date: September 2025

Pay Rate: Competitive (Based on Experience)

Contract Type: Long Term Temp to Perm Daily Flexible Supply

Are you a dedicated and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant eager to support children's learning and development?

Prospero Teaching is working in partnership with a friendly and inclusive mainstream primary school is Handsworth, Birmingham, to recruit a General Teaching Assistant. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a supportive environment, contributing to the academic and personal growth of young learners.

About the Role:

Provide classroom support across various subjects and key stages

Work one–to–one or in small groups with pupils who may need additional support

Support children's emotional well–being and social development

Contribute to a safe, respectful, and stimulating learning environment

The Ideal Candidate Will:

Have previous experience supporting children in a primary school setting

Be confident and adaptable working across year groups

Have a caring, patient, and nurturing approach

Be a reliable team player with excellent communication skills

Essential Requirements:

Right to Work in the UK

A Level 2 Qualification in Teaching & Learning, or equivalent

Experience working with children in a school or early years setting

A valid Enhanced Child Barred List DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)

Two recent, child–related professional references (covering the last two years)
