Description
Job Title: Female Teaching Assistant (1:1 Support - UASC Student)
Location:
Gillingham
Working Days/Hours:
Monday to Thursday
08:30 - 16:30 (32 hours per week)
Salary:
£13.09 per hour
Job Purpose:
To provide dedicated 1:1 classroom support for a female Unaccompanied Asylum-Seeking Child (UASC) within a class of male students, helping her to feel safe, included, and supported in her learning and social development.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide 1:1 academic and emotional support to the female UASC student
Assist the student with classroom tasks, communication, and engagement
Promote inclusion, confidence, and independence
Liaise with class teacher to monitor progress and well-being
Support the wider class where appropriate while maintaining focus on the student's needs
Follow safeguarding, equality, and school behaviour policies at all times
Requirements:
Experience working with children or young people
Empathetic, patient, and understanding approach
Ability to build trust and positive relationships
Good communication and teamwork skills
A willingness to support the emotional and educational needs of a vulnerable student
Female candidate required for safeguarding and pastoral reasons
