Sporty Teaching Assistant - Full-Time - Cardiff (Secondary KS3/KS4)

Days: Monday to Friday (Full-time)

Start Date: September 2025

Contract Type: Full-time, Permanent or Long-term

Support Role: Classroom support and behaviour mentoring across KS3/KS4

Are you an energetic, positive Teaching Assistant who thrives on building strong relationships with young people and inspiring them through sport and physical activity?

A forward-thinking secondary school in Cardiff, in partnership with Empowering Learning Cardiff, is seeking a Sporty Teaching Assistant to join their pastoral and classroom support team from September 2025. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with a background in coaching, youth work, or mentoring who is passionate about supporting students in Key Stages 3 and 4.

You will support pupils across a range of subjects, with a particular focus on those who benefit from structure, consistency, and active engagement. Your role will involve supporting learning in the classroom, mentoring students with low-level behaviour needs, and helping facilitate sport-based interventions or lunchtime clubs.

What We're Looking For:

A background in sport, youth work, or behaviour mentoring

Experience working with secondary-aged pupils (age 11-16)

Confident, approachable, and able to build strong rapport

A calm and consistent presence in and out of the classroom

A current DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply)
