A group of welcoming primary and SEN schools in Newport is looking to recruit a Sports Graduate Teaching Assistant to start this September. This is an exciting opportunity to take your first steps into education while making a real difference to children’s learning and development.

As a Sports Graduate Teaching Assistant, you will support pupils in both classroom and sporting environments. Whether working one-to-one, supporting small groups or helping manage a lively classroom, your energy and enthusiasm will play a key role in encouraging positive behaviour and pupil engagement. Your background in sports will be especially valuable in promoting confidence, resilience and teamwork among learners.

You’ll be joining a supportive network of schools that understand the value of physical activity in the learning journey. These schools are experienced in working with graduates, making them an ideal starting point for those new to education or considering a future in teaching or coaching.

What we’re looking for

We’re looking for a Sports Graduate Teaching Assistant who:

Holds a degree in Sports Science, Physical Education or a related subject

Has a genuine interest in supporting primary-aged children or those with additional learning needs

Brings energy, enthusiasm and a proactive approach to every school day

Communicates clearly and confidently, building strong relationships with pupils and staff

Is open to learning and committed to ongoing professional development

What we offer

A competitive daily rate between £88.92 and £101.92, depending on experience

Full-time hours (8:30 am to 3:30 pm), with part-time options available
