Special Needs Teaching Assistant – Primary School in Lambeth (Supporting Students with ASD)

Location: Lambeth – South London

Start Date: September 2025

Contract: Full–time, Long–term

Salary: 85 – 100 per day (depending on experience)

A welcoming and inclusive primary school in Lambeth is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Special Needs Teaching Assistant to join their team from September 2025. This role will involve working closely with pupils diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), providing both academic and emotional support throughout the school day.

About the Special Needs Teaching Assistant role:

Provide one–to–one and small group support for students with ASD

Adapt learning materials and approaches to meet individual needs

Help implement personalised learning plans and EHCP targets

Support students in developing social, emotional, and communication skills

Collaborate with teachers, SENCO, and external professionals to provide consistent care

What we're looking for:

Previous experience working with children with ASD or other special educational needs – essential

A calm, empathetic, and patient attitude

Good understanding of autism and related learning strategies

Excellent communication and teamwork skills

A genuine interest in supporting children with additional needs in their learning journey
