Job Title: Special Needs Teaching Assistant

Location: Brent, North West London

Start Date: September 2025

Contract Type: Full-Time, Long-Term

Salary: £90 - £115 per day (PAYE, depending on experience)

Tradewind Recruitment is proud to work with a wide network of SEND schools and provisions across Brent, supporting them in finding passionate, dedicated staff who can make a real difference. We are now looking for Special Needs Teaching Assistants to start from September 2025, with opportunities available in both primary and secondary SEND settings.

This role is ideal for individuals who are committed to inclusive education and enthusiastic about supporting children with a variety of needs, such as autism, ADHD, and learning difficulties ranging from moderate to severe.

The Role:

As a Special Needs Teaching Assistant, you will support pupils both academically and emotionally to help them reach their full potential. Your role will include:

Providing 1:1 or small group support tailored to pupils' needs

Assisting teachers in adapting lessons and implementing behaviour strategies

Promoting independence, confidence, and positive social interaction

Creating and maintaining an encouraging and inclusive learning environment

What We're Looking For:

Previous experience supporting children or young people with SEND (school, youth work or care background welcome)

A patient, resilient, and nurturing approach

Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team

Knowledge of autism, ADHD and/or additional learning needs

An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)

A Level 2/3 TA qualification is desirable but not essential
