Job Title: SEN Teaching Assistant

Location: South Birmingham

Start Date: September

Salary: £90 - £105 per day, depending on experience

About the Role:

We are currently seeking a dedicated and caring SEND Teaching Assistant to join a vibrant and inclusive school in South Birmingham. This position is ideal for individuals passionate about supporting students with Special Educational Needs (SEN) and helping them reach their full potential. You will assist in creating a positive learning environment, working closely with teachers to provide both 1:1 and group support. The role offers full-time, part-time, and contract options, starting in April 2025.

Key Responsibilities:

Provide individual and small group support for students with Special Educational Needs (SEN)

Assist in the delivery of tailored lessons to meet students' specific needs

Support students in developing social, emotional, and academic skills

Help manage classroom behaviour, ensuring a positive and inclusive learning environment

Work with teachers to implement and monitor Individual Education Plans (IEPs)

Maintain records of student progress and communicate effectively with parents and colleagues

Assist with any personal care needs, if required

Adhere to safeguarding and child protection guidelines

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

A Level 3 qualification or at least 6 months’ experience in an educational setting

Experience working with children with Special Educational Needs (SEN)

Strong communication and interpersonal skills

A good understanding of safeguarding and child protection procedures

Patience, empathy, and the ability to work pro actively with students who may have challenging behaviour

Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
