TeacherActive is looking for SEND LSA to work in Primary schools across the Southampton area.

This is a great opportunity for anyone with experience supporting young people -whether through youth clubs, sports, outreach work, or alternative education.

About the Role:

As a SEND LSA, you’ll help students manage their emotions, build confidence, and get back on track with learning.

You’ll work with teachers and support staff to help children who find behaviour, social skills, or emotions challenging.

Key Responsibilities of a SEND LSA:

Supporting children 1:1

Encouraging positive behaviour and emotional wellbeing

Building trusting relationships with pupils

Helping students overcome challenges to learning

Working with school staff to provide the right support

What We’re Looking For:

Experience working with children or young people (e.g. youth work, sports, support work, outreach)

A calm, patient, and understanding approach

Confidence in handling difficult situations calmly

Good communication and people skills

A real passion for helping young people do well
