The Role – SEN Teaching Assistant

We are seeking a committed SEN Teaching Assistant to join a supportive SEMH secondary school in Lewisham. The school caters to students aged 11–16 with a range of social, emotional, and mental health needs. The successful candidate will work closely with students who may display challenging behaviours, helping them engage with learning and build positive relationships.

You’ll be part of a collaborative team, supporting pupils both in and out of the classroom, using your initiative and empathy to create a safe and structured learning environment.

This role is ideal for someone with prior experience in SEN settings, particularly SEMH or PRU environments, and who is passionate about making a difference in young people’s lives.
