Description

Are you interested in special education? Are you looking for a rewarding career opportunity where you can support young children? Are you kind, caring and nurturing?

If you're passionate about making a difference and feel that you could help to encourage, motivate, and support children with additional needs to reach their full potential then this SEN Teaching Assistant role is for you!

A Special Needs School located in Witney are looking for a caring and nurturing SEN Teaching Assistant to join their friendly team of staff on a full–time basis starting in September. The school supports children with various additional needs, including Autism, Attention Deficit Disorder, those with lower cognitive abilities and complex learning needs. Therefore, if you are patient, understanding and up for a challenge then you will be perfect for this role.

As an SEN Teaching Assistant, your daily duties will involve supporting and shadowing the class teacher, whilst providing one to one support for the students. You will help run exciting lessons to help make the classroom a fun and happy learning environment. You will also help manage any challenging behaviour that occurs, and encourage all students to make positive choices.

Experience working with children or vulnerable adults would be really helpful. This could be professional or personal experience, such as having a family member with additional needs. A relevant degree, such as Psychology or Criminology, would also be desirable. However, passion and enthusiasm come first!

This Specialist School have been praised by OFSTED for their inclusive and nurturing learning environment, specifically their excellent sensory provisions and focus on helping the students develop their life skills. You will be joining a growing and friendly team!
