Specialist Teaching Assistant – SEN Education

Location: Border of Cambridgeshire and Hertfordshire

Pay Rate: £12.37 – £13.49 per hour

Annual Salary (Actual): £22,102.72 – £24,103.93 (Term-Time Only)

Hours: 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday

Contract Type: Permanent – Term-Time Only

The Role

I am seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant to become part of a growing specialist educational team near Royston. You’ll be supporting children and young people aged 6 to 19 with a range of complex learning needs including Moderate to Severe Learning Difficulties (MLD/SLD), Autism, ADHD, and sensory or medical challenges.

The school provides a purpose-built environment, exceptional therapeutic resources, and a team committed to positive student outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

*

Support students in a range of learning environments, including classrooms, outdoor settings, and the local community.

*

Help learners develop social, emotional, and academic skills through personalised, high-quality support.

*

Assist students with managing anxiety, sensory regulation, and transitions, building confidence and independence.

*

Participate in personal care and physical support routines where needed (training provided).
