SEN Teaching Assistant

Location: Dartford

Contract Type: Full-time

Salary: £83.33 - £88.94+ per day

Are you an experienced SEN Teaching Assistant looking for your next role? We are seeking a committed and caring SEN Teaching Assistant to join a supportive specialist school in Dartford.

As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will support children and young people with a range of special educational needs, including autism spectrum conditions, severe and profound learning difficulties, and associated medical needs. You will work alongside teachers to provide tailored support that promotes learning, independence, and well-being.

Key requirements for the SEN Teaching Assistant role:

The successful candidate will have:

Proven experience working with children or young people with special educational needs (SEN).

A full driving licence, as the school is not easily accessible via public transport.

A patient, resilient, and compassionate approach to supporting children with complex needs.

Strong communication and teamwork abilities to collaborate effectively with staff, pupils, and parents.

A genuine passion for helping pupils with additional needs to thrive.

Key responsibilities of an SEN Teaching Assistant include:

· Providing 1:1 and small group support in line with EHCPs and learning plans

· Assisting pupils with communication, behaviour regulation, sensory needs, and personal care

· Encouraging independence, life skills, and positive social interaction

· Supporting a safe, inclusive, and nurturing learning environment
