SEN Teaching Assistant - Supply

Location: Barking and Dagenham

Start Date: September 2025

Contract: Supply (part-time and full-time options available)

Daily Rate: £90 - £100 (depending on experience)

Year Groups: Nursery to Year 6

Tradewind Recruitment is seeking enthusiastic and experienced SEN Teaching Assistants to work on a supply basis across primary schools in Barking and Dagenham. The role involves providing 1:1 support for pupils withvarious SEN needs. Both daily and long-term placements are available.

We're looking for candidates with:

Experience supporting children with Special Educational Needs (especially Autism)

Confidence in 1:1 or small group support (phonics or SATs support is a plus)

Strong relationship-building skills with pupils, staff, and families

Patience, empathy, and a proactive mindset

Good understanding of child development, IEPs, and EHCPs

Effective behaviour management

Requirements:

Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willing to apply)

Legal right to work in the UK

Full CV with work history since leaving education

Two recent professional references

Overseas police check (if applicable)
