SEN Teaching Assistant – Primary SEN School | Worthing
Are you passionate about supporting children with special educational needs? A fantastic Primary SEN School in Worthing is looking for a dedicated Teaching Assistant to join their nurturing team.
Location: Worthing, West Sussex
Start Date: September 2025
Hours: 8.30-3.30, Monday-Friday, term-time only
Pay: £81.75–£89 per day
About the Role:
As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you’ll work closely with teachers to support pupils aged 4–11 with a range of additional needs, including autism, ADHD, and speech and language challenges. You’ll help create a safe, inclusive learning environment where every child can thrive.
Key Responsibilities:
* Provide 1:1 and small-group support
* Assist with learning activities, behaviour support, and transitions
* Use visual aids, Makaton, PECs, or other communication tools (training provided)
* Help with personal care routines where needed
* Work collaboratively with teachers, therapists, and SENCOs
Ideal Candidate:
* Experience supporting children with SEN (school or care background welcomed)
* Calm, compassionate, and adaptable
* Strong communication skills and a team player
* Willing to learn and take on training
* A genuine passion for helping children succeed
