Teaching Assistant - Alternative Provision (Preston)

Location: Preston

Start Date: September 2025

Contract: Long-term with a view to permanent

Full-time

Pay: £90 - £120 per day (PAYE)

An inclusive and supportive Alternative Provision in Preston is seeking a Teaching Assistant to join their team from September 2025. This is a long-term role with the potential to move to a permanent contract, offering the right candidate a chance to make a meaningful impact in a specialist setting.

About the Role:

Supporting students with social, emotional, and behavioural needs

Working closely with teaching staff to deliver personalised interventions

Helping pupils develop confidence, independence, and a positive approach to learning

Providing 1:1 and small group support, both in and outside of the classroom

Promoting an inclusive, nurturing, and respectful learning environmentWhat We're Looking For:

Experience working in a school, PRU, or youth setting (preferred but not essential)

Calm, patient, and consistent in behaviour management strategies

Ability to build rapport quickly and support students with diverse needs

A genuine desire to support vulnerable learners

Team player with a proactive and flexible approachIdeal Qualifications:

Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (desirable)

DBS on the Update Service or willing to obtain oneWhat the school offer:
