SEN Teaching Assistant - Reception - Tower Hamlets (Near Whitechapel Station)

Location: Tower Hamlets - Short walk from Whitechapel Station

Start Date: September 2025

Contract: Full-time, Term-time

Salary: £90-£105 per day (depending on experience)

A welcoming and inclusive primary school in Tower Hamlets, near Whitechapel Station, is looking for a compassionate and resilient SEN Teaching Assistant to join their Early Years team in Reception. You will be providing dedicated one-to-one support to a young child with complex learning and communication needs.

SEN Teaching Assistant responsibilities:

Provide 1:1 classroom support for a Reception pupil with complex needs

Implement strategies in line with the child's EHCP

Use visual supports, sensory tools, and structured activities to engage learning

Work collaboratively with the class teacher, SENCo, and therapists

Track progress and contribute to regular review meetings

What we're looking for:

Experience supporting children with SEN, ideally in EYFS

Understanding of complex learning needs, including communication and sensory difficulties

A calm, patient, and proactive approach

Strong communication and teamwork skills

Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply)
