Job Title: SEN Teaching Assistant (TA)

Location: Grimsby

Pay Rate: £88.94 – £114.84 per day (depending on experience)

Start Date: Immediate

Contract Type: Day-to-day/Long-term, Part-time/Full-time

GSL Education are seeking a compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to join schools in Grimsby. This role is perfect for someone with patience, empathy, and the commitment to help every child succeed in their learning journey.

Role Overview:

As a SEN TA, you will provide one-to-one and small group support for pupils with a range of special educational needs, ensuring they can fully engage in lessons and school life. You will work closely with teachers and support staff to adapt learning materials, encourage independence, and create a positive, inclusive classroom environment.

Responsibilities as a SEN Teaching Assistant:

Support the learning and development of pupils with SEN, both individually and in small groups.

Assist in adapting resources to meet individual learning needs.

Help manage classroom behaviour in a supportive and constructive way.

Foster positive relationships with pupils, staff, and parents/carers.

Monitor and record pupil progress, sharing feedback with the teaching team.

Promote independence and self-confidence in all learners.

Requirements for SEN Teaching Assistant:

Previous experience working with children with SEN is highly desirable.

Understanding of a range of additional needs, including autism, ADHD, and learning difficulties.

Strong communication and teamwork skills.

Patience, resilience, and a nurturing approach.

A valid enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to apply.

A full, up-to-date CV with explanations for any employment gaps in the last 10 years.
