Description

SEN Teaching Assistant - PMLD Specialist - FE SEN College - Coventry - Temp to Perm

Location: Coventry

Contract: Full-Time, Temp to Perm

Pay: From £90 per day PAYE (dependent on experience)

Start Date: September 2025 (induction in August)

Do you have the patience, creativity, and compassion to support young adults with profound and multiple learning disabilities? Would you like to work in a specialist environment where every small achievement is celebrated and progress is measured in meaningful, life-enhancing ways?

We're proud to be working with a dedicated FE (Further Education) SEN College in Coventry that provides highly personalised education for learners aged 16-25 with complex physical, sensory, and learning needs. The college's approach is rooted in person-centred care, communication development, and building independence wherever possible.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a SEN Teaching Assistant with a passion for PMLD support to join a skilled, nurturing team in a role that truly makes a difference.

What You'll Be Doing:

Providing 1:1 and small-group support for learners with complex needs, including physical disabilities, sensory impairments, and medical requirements

Assisting with personalised learning programmes, including communication development, sensory exploration, and life skills

Supporting students with personal care and mobility needs (full training provided if required)

Facilitating engagement in classroom and practical activities, using specialist resources and assistive technology where appropriate

Promoting independence, confidence, and social interaction in a safe, structured environment

Working closely with tutors, therapists, and support staff to deliver an integrated, holistic approach to learning

What We're Looking For:

Experience supporting individuals with PMLD or complex SEN (school, college, or care setting)

A calm, patient, and empathetic approach to meeting a wide range of physical and learning needs

Willingness to support with personal care and physical assistance as part of daily routines

Excellent communication skills, including non-verbal communication methods

Relevant qualifications (e.g., Level 2/3 TA, Health & Social Care, or equivalent) are desirable but not essential if you have strong practical experience

Why Join Long Term Futures?

A temp-to-perm pathway in a rewarding specialist FE environment

Exclusive access to roles in SEN and PMLD provisions across the Midlands

Ongoing support from experienced consultants who understand specialist education

Free CPD and training to develop your skills

Transparent PAYE pay with no umbrella deductions

If you're ready to make a lasting difference for young people with PMLD and can start this September (with induction in August), we'd love to hear from you.

Apply today or contact Long Term Futures to find out more.

Please note: All applicants will need an enhanced DBS and must be committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of vulnerable learners
