SEN Teaching Assistant – 1:1 Support Role

Location: Greenwich, South East London

Start Date: September 2025

Contract Type: Full-Time | Long-Term

Weekly Pay: £450 – £525 (depending on experience and qualifications)

Are you passionate about supporting young learners with special educational needs in a nurturing, inclusive environment?

GSL Education is currently seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to work on a 1:1 basis with pupils in a vibrant and supportive primary school in Greenwich. This long-term role, starting in September, is ideal for someone who is committed to making a lasting difference in a child’s learning journey.

Role Responsibilities:

Provide 1:1 classroom support to pupils with a range of SEN, including ASD, ADHD, and communication needs.

Assist in implementing tailored learning plans in collaboration with the class teacher and SENCO.

Foster a positive and encouraging environment, promoting independence and confidence in learning.

Support students with their academic, social, and emotional development throughout the school day.

Help manage behaviour and ensure that children feel safe, understood, and engaged.

Candidate Requirements:

Previous experience supporting children with SEN (in a school or similar setting) is highly desirable.

A calm, empathetic, and patient approach to support.

Ability to build strong, trusting relationships with children and staff.

Right to work in the UK and willingness to undergo safeguarding checks.

An Enhanced DBS registered on the update service (or willingness to apply for one).
