SEN HLTA – Leeds (LS10)

Daily Rate: £90–£120/day | Contract: Full-time, long-term, short-term | Start Date: 2025-26 (Academic year)

We are seeking an enthusiastic and qualified Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join a specialist SEN setting in South Leeds (LS10). This role is ideal for an HLTA who is passionate about supporting children with a range of additional needs and confident stepping up to lead learning when required.

Key responsibilities:

Delivering small-group interventions and supporting 1:1 SEN pupils

Leading whole-class sessions when the teacher is absent, using pre-planned lessons

Supporting pupils with autism, ADHD, SEMH, and other learning needs

Adapting resources and strategies to meet individual needs

Working closely with teachers, SEN staff, and external professionals to track progress

The ideal candidate will have:

HLTA qualification (essential)

Previous experience working with children or young people with SEN

Confidence in leading small groups and covering full classes

Excellent behaviour management and communication skills

A positive, resilient and compassionate approach to supporting pupils

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
