SEMH Tutor

Description

Remedy Tutors is seeking compassionate, patient, and skilled tutors to provide one-to-one tuition for students with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. Our tutors play a key role in helping learners re-engage with education, build confidence, and achieve their potential through tailored support.

Responsibilities:

Plan and deliver personalised lessons that meet each student’s academic and emotional needs

*

Create a safe, supportive, and inclusive learning environment

*

Use flexible and creative teaching strategies to engage students who may have experienced barriers to learning

*

Support learners in building confidence, resilience, and positive learning habits

*

Maintain regular communication with parents, carers, and our team regarding progress and wellbeing

Requirements:

*

Experience working with students with SEMH needs (QTS or specialist training preferred but not essential)

*

Strong subject knowledge in core curriculum areas

*

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

*

Patience, empathy, and the ability to build trust and rapport

*

Understanding of strategies to support emotional regulation and positive behaviour

*

Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people
