Job Advertisement: School IT Technician - Immediate Start

Location: Bury

Contract Type: Full-time

Start Date: Immediate

We are currently seeking a skilled and proactive IT Technician to join our school's support team. The successful candidate must be able to start immediately, have previous experience working in a school environment, and hold relevant IT qualifications and a degree.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a busy and supportive school where you will play a crucial role in ensuring that all technology runs smoothly to support teaching, learning, and school operations.

Key Responsibilities:

Provide first-line technical support to staff and students across the school

Maintain and troubleshoot hardware, software, and network systems

Assist with the setup and maintenance of classroom technology, including interactive whiteboards, printers, and projectors

Monitor and manage the school's IT helpdesk system

Ensure data security, backups, and network integrity are maintained

Support the implementation of new systems and software as required

Liaise with external IT support providers when necessary

Essential Requirements:

Previous experience working as an IT Technician in a school setting (essential)

A relevant IT degree (e.g., Computer Science, Information Technology) and up-to-date industry qualifications (e.g., CompTIA, Microsoft certifications)

Strong understanding of school IT systems, including SIMS, Office 365, and network infrastructure

Excellent problem-solving skills and a customer-focused approach

Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks effectively

Strong communication skills and a professional, approachable manner
