Reception Teacher East Kent

Are you a creative and inspiring teacher with a passion for supporting young children at the very start of their school journey? Academics in Canterbury are seeking dedicated and enthusiastic Reception Teachers to work in early years classrooms across a range of lovely schools in areas including Canterbury, Thanet, Dover, Whitstable/Herne Bay, Folkestone/Hythe, and surrounding villages. Whether you're looking for full-time, part-time, or flexible day-to-day work, we have opportunities to suit your availability and lifestyle.

This is a fantastic opportunity to play a key role in the early education of children, helping them develop confidence, curiosity, and essential skills for the future.

Key Responsibilities:

Plan and deliver engaging lessons tailored to the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework

Create a warm, safe, and inclusive classroom where every child feels valued and supported

Observe, assess, and record children's progress to inform future planning and teaching

Support children's personal, social, emotional, and language development

Build strong relationships with teaching assistants, parents/carers, and colleagues

Promote positive behaviour and uphold the school's values and ethos

Contribute to the wider life of the school, including outdoor learning, celebrations, and eventsWhat We Are Looking For:

Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with experience in Early Years, ideally Reception

A genuine passion for working with young children and supporting their development

Strong understanding of the EYFS curriculum and early learning approaches

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

A patient, nurturing, and enthusiastic approach

Flexibility to work across different schools and settings

Up-to-date knowledge of safeguarding practices and a commitment to child welfare
