Description

We are working with a supportive and inclusive primary school in Skelmersdale that is seeking a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join their team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a genuine passion for supporting children with additional needs to make a positive impact in a caring and welcoming school environment.

The successful candidate will work alongside teachers and the SENCO to deliver tailored support to pupils with a variety of needs, including autism (ASC), ADHD, social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) difficulties, and speech and language needs.

Key Responsibilities

Provide 1:1 and small group support to pupils with SEN.

Assist in planning and delivering individualised learning activities.

Implement strategies to support pupil engagement, progress, and behaviour.

Build positive, trusting relationships with pupils to promote independence.

Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCO, and external agencies.

Support the social, emotional, and academic development of children.

Requirements

Previous experience working with children with SEN.

Patient, empathetic, and resilient approach.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Ability to adapt support to meet different needs and learning styles.

Commitment to safeguarding and promoting pupil welfare.
