Description

Psychology Graduate – SEN Teaching Assistant

Are you a Psychology graduate eager to make a real impact while gaining hands–on experience in education and mental health?

A forward–thinking and inclusive school based in Liverpool (L19), the school is looking for a bright, empathetic Psychology graduate to join their SEN support team as a Teaching Assistant. This is a fantastic stepping stone if you're considering a career in Educational or Clinical Psychology, Speech & Language Therapy, Occupational Therapy, or SEN Teaching.

You'll be working closely with students who have EHCPs and a range of additional needs, including Autism (ASD), Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) challenges, Moderate Learning Difficulties (MLD), and communication barriers. Your role will involve providing tailored 1:1 and small–group support–helping students thrive both inside and outside the classroom.

What You'll Be Doing:

Providing targeted, compassionate support to students with special educational needs

Supporting pupils with Autism and communication difficulties to build confidence and independence

Managing challenging behaviour using evidence–based strategies

Collaborating with SENCOs, therapists, and teaching staff to deliver a whole–child approach

Gaining hands–on experience with EHCPs, adaptive teaching, and early intervention strategies

What's In It for You?

Earn up to 115 per day while building invaluable experience in education and child development

Work in a supportive, diverse, and inclusive environment committed to student wellbeing

Gain direct exposure to therapeutic techniques used in school–based mental health support

Strengthen your application for postgraduate psychology, teaching, or therapy training

Join a school that's truly making a difference–with a strong SEN team and an inclusive ethos

If you're serious about a career in mental health, child development, or special education, this role will give you the grounding you need.
