PMLD Teaching Assistant - SEN School - Morecambe

Location: Barrow-in-Furness

Full-time: Monday to Friday, 8:30am - 3:30pm

Start Date: ASAP

Competitive daily rate: GBP95 - GBP125 (depending on experience)

Contract: Long-term with the potential to go permanent

Tradewind Recruitment are working in partnership with a dedicated SEN school in Morecambe, currently seeking a compassionate and committed Teaching Assistant to support pupils with Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD).

This is a rewarding opportunity to join a skilled and nurturing team, supporting pupils with complex physical, medical, and learning needs.

Key Responsibilities:

Supporting students with PMLD on a 1:1 and small group basisAssisting with personal care, including toileting and feedingSupporting physiotherapy and sensory programmes under guidanceUsing specialist equipment and communication tools (e.g., hoists, PECs, switches)Working collaboratively with teachers, therapists, and healthcare staffPromoting a safe, respectful and inclusive learning environment The Ideal Candidate Will:

Have experience supporting pupils with PMLD, complex needs, or severe disabilitiesBe comfortable providing personal care and physical supportDemonstrate a calm, patient and empathetic approachBe able to use (or willing to learn) specialist communication methodsHold a relevant care or education qualification (desirable but not essential) Why Join Tradewind?
