This is an exceptional opportunity for an experienced and highly accomplished Physics Teacher looking to further their career within a high–achieving and forward–thinking independent school in the intellectually vibrant city of Cambridge. This role, commencing in September 2025, offers significant autonomy, the chance to shape the future of Physics provision across Key Stage 3 and, with a strong emphasis, Key Stage 4 and 5, and the opportunity to make a lasting impact on our students' scientific understanding and problem–solving abilities within the Cambridge academic community, with the potential for a Teaching and Learning Responsibility (TLR).
As our Teacher of Physics, joining us in September 2025, with a significant role in A–Level Physics, you will:
Lead Curriculum Innovation: Take a prominent role in the delivery and development of the Physics curriculum across all key stages, inspiring high–achieving students, particularly at Key Stage 5, to reach their full academic potential and fostering a school–wide appreciation for scientific inquiry. Drive Pedagogical Excellence: Have the opportunity to implement and champion innovative teaching methodologies, incorporate advanced experimental techniques and computational modelling, and explore cutting–edge physics concepts relevant to university–level study and contemporary research, with a clear focus on the demands of A–Level. Mentor and Champion Talent: Act as a role model and mentor for students with a passion for Physics, fostering their aspirations for further study at top universities and careers in scientific research, engineering, or technology, actively guiding our A–Level students towards academic distinction. Collaborate with a Dynamic Department: Work alongside a team of expert and passionate Physics specialists, sharing best practices and contributing strategically to the overall success and strong performance of the department, with a key focus on the delivery of an exceptional A–Level Physics programme. Benefit from Strategic Professional Growth: Access unparalleled professional development opportunities tailored to your expertise and leadership aspirations, supported by a progressive leadership team that values the importance of scientific education within Cambridge's unique academic environment, with specific opportunities for A–Level specialism and leadership. (Potential TLR): Take on significant leadership responsibilities, such as leading the A–Level Physics curriculum, developing links with local university Physics departments, or coordinating STEM outreach initiatives. We're seeking a highly experienced and qualified Physics teacher with a proven track record of strong results across all key stages and a desire to contribute to departmental leadership. Experience in leading curriculum development, developing challenging resources, and fostering high–achieving student cohorts is highly desirable, with a comprehensive understanding of the A–Level Physics specifications being essential. You will possess a profound understanding of physical principles, exceptional pedagogical skills, and the ability to motivate and challenge students of all abilities, with a particular focus on the demands of Key Stage 5. If you're ready to take the next significant step in your career within an exceptional educational environment in Cambridge, starting in September 2025, we strongly encourage you to apply.
Advance your professional journey and lead Physics innovation at our respected independent Cambridge school, with a significant focus on A–Level and a potential TLR, commencing September 2025!
